Isham Jones - 12 unedited WAVs - some rare

something has gone horribly wrong 8-p
Prefer flash? · Embed · Questions/Feedback?

This file includes 12 unedited WAV transfers from my new 78 RPM collection. They are all Acoustic recordings made by Isham Jones and his orchestra in the early 1920s. Some, such as "Who's Sorry Now", should be well-known to people familiar with the artist. Others, such "'Neath Egyptian skies," probably will not. I personally have never found any digital recordings of this and other songs any where on the internet.
If you want to listen to my amateur attempts at "restoring" these recordings, they can be found on my Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/bobbobato?feature=mhee). If you want to try "fixing" the original WAVs yourself, by all means go right ahead. But do publish them online, somewhere.
The Brunswick catalogue numbers are:
2531, 2500, 2438, 2313, 2195, 2358

Subject: Isham Jones
Although I was born in the 50's, I love the music from the 1920's.This is where music began. These Isham Jones recordings are gems as with everything from the 20's.Now I wish someone had a Ben Selvin Collection to upload.

Subject: Isham Jones in Chicago
Very nice - my mother used to hear him play at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago. One time, she said, they were standing around the bandstand and Isham said he wanted to play a new song to see what they thought - it was "I'll See You in My Dreams!" I think I read that he wrote it over the phone with Gus Kahn.
Thanks for your efforts, Chris

Thanks for posting these. The sound was very close to what it was like pulling up a few old disks and playing them on my grandparent's Victorola. I appreciate he sound/vibe.

Great tunes, and the sound quality isn't bad even though the noise is apparent.
